Brookfield Power Trust

Brookfield Power Trust’s predecessor purchased Mississagi hydroelectric generating stations in 2002 as part of the Ontario government’s push to privatize portions of the electricity sector. The four Mississagi hydroelectric stations have a combined generating capacity of almost 490 megawatts (MW). The Mississagi stations were built between 1950 and 1970. These stations had been owned and operated by Ontario Power Generation until their sale to Brookfield.
