Celebrate Labour Day with your family and friends on Monday, September 7, 2015

The Society’s 2015 Labour Day theme is “Time for a change – our future depends on it.”

Here are some of the Labour Day events happening across Ontario:

 

Toronto

Parade

Time:    8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Where:  East Side of University Avenue (North from Armoury Street to Dundas St. W.)

There will be free entrance to the CNE after the parade. Wristbands that provide entrance to the CNE will be given to the marchers during the parade.

 

Durham:

Labour Day Community Picnic

Time:    11:00 am to 3:00 pm

Where: Memorial Park 10 Simcoe Street S, Oshawa, ON

(corner of Simcoe St. and John St)

There will be live music, face painting and refreshments

 

Grey Bruce

Parade and Community Event

Time:    11:00 am

Where: The parade will start in downtown Port Elgin followed by a lunch and other events at the

Unifor Family Education Centre

Port Elgin, ON

There will be a children’s bike rodeo, classic car show and much more.

 

Hamilton:

Parade and BBQ/Picnic

Time:    10:00 am

Meet at the S/W corner of York and Queen Streets at 10:00 am.  Look for the Society flag. The parade begins at 10:30 am Sharp at the corner of Queen and York Street and will end at Dundurn Park.  The BBQ/Picnic will be held in Dundurn Park.

 

London:

Labour Day Community Picnic

Time: 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm

Where: Thames Park (off Ridout just south of Horton St.)

 

Ottawa

Parade and Picnic

Time:   12:00 noon

Where:  Parade starts at Elgin and Lisgar

Picnic to follow parade at McNabb Park

 

Sudbury:

Parade and Community Event

Time:    10:30 am to 4:00 pm

Where: Bell Park Paris Street (post parade BBQ and community event)
