The Society sent a strong delegation to last month’s 2014 Canadian Nuclear Association conference in Ottawa.

Presenters offered keen insight into the issues facing the nuclear industry. Some of the topics covered were how to make common cause with environmentalists, international opportunities for Canada’s nuclear industry, the future of small modular reactors, the evolving regulatory landscape, and the impact changing demographics will have on our workplaces.

Delegates also heard from Ontario’s Minister of Energy Bob Chirelli, as well as Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources (since appointed Minister of Finance) Joe Oliver, and Minister of State (Finance) Kevin Sorenson.

President Scott Travers attended the February 26-28 conference, as did representatives from the OPG and Bruce Power locals, and Society staff.
