The Society responded to the recently released Clark Report, which arose from a provincial task force led by former bank CEO Ed Clark. The task force was asked by Premier Kathleen Wynne to recommend ways to “modernize government business enterprises,” including Hydro One and Ontario Power Generation, with the aim of extracting new revenues.

While the report respects The Society’s collective bargaining rights, there were some recommendations that the union highlighted as areas of concern. In particular, splitting up the transmission and distribution sides of Hydro One, and reorganizing OPG to segregate nuclear operations from other functions with the intention of privatizing the most profitable portions of the company.

The Society’s full statement on the Clark report is available on Canada News Wire.
